Many people ask me how I began teaching Somatics. So, here’s the story.

 
Hi, I’m Linda A.Smith, owner of Somatic Life. I have been working in the field of health and fitness for over 30 years and have dedicated my life to help motivate people to live healthier, more vibrant lives. I would love to help you get out of pain, back to function, get your life back and improve your strength and confidence.

I have always loved the outdoors, sports and dance. Having enjoyed tennis, snow skiing, wind-surfing, in-line skating and mountain biking for many years, I pursued cardiovascular, strength and flexibility conditioning early on in life. I had a serious injury when I was 24, and then a bad car accident in my 30’s. As a result, my posture was horrendous with a forward head tilt and rounded shoulders, I was experiencing pain in my neck and a loss of strength in my upper body.

A good friend invited me to a Somatic workshop when I was about 40, and my life was transformed. By performing the somatic movements twice a day my posture improved dramatically, my strength returned and I’ve been getting more flexible ever since.

I’m now exceeding 50 years years old and keep improving every year. Life is so full of surprises and wonders and miracles. One of them in my life has been Somatics.

The combination of the healing work of Somatics and fitness training is unique and creates a healthy balance in mind, body & spirit. I am one of the living proofs of this fact… To hear others stories go back to the home page and scroll down.

Hanna Somatic Education has given me my life back. Seven years ago I had a L5-S1 spinal fusion, two years later I herniated my L4-L5 disk and was left in continuous back pain. I had done physical therapy, spinal injections and the doctors wanted to do more back surgery. I had given up hope of ever being able to enjoy my out door hobbies again. Three years ago I discovered Hanna Somatic Education and what a relief.
